Highway 43, between Lake Oswego and Portland, is one of the most dangerous and challenging passages in the region for cyclists, placing it on the Bicycle Transportation Alliance (www.bta4bikes.org) list of 40 projects (PDF file) that would most improve biking in the Portland Metro region. A Lake Oswego to Portland Advisory Committee is reviewing transportation alternatives, including a bicycle trail along the current trolley corridor, which would create an essential connection and auto-free, level ride along the river.
