IN FEBRUARY 2007, the Lake Oswego Public Library launches the "Lake Oswego Reads" project, in which the citizens of Lake Oswego are encouraged to read the same book each month. The first book will be the highly-acclaimed, "The Shadow of the Wind", by Carlos Ruiz Zafón.

During the month-long festivities in February, a variety of book-related special programs will be presented throughout the city, including a Kick-Off Party with live Spanish music; lectures about Spain and its history; local restaurants, pubs, grocers and stores hosting events revolving around Spanish food, travel and culture; Art in the Heart, a special art exhibit of book-influenced art by local artists and high school students; concerts; contests; cooking classes and more!

"This exciting new reading project is for high school students and adults, creating a citywide experience that can be enjoyed by all segments of the community... Lake Oswego Reads sends the message that this community values books, intellectual pursuits and thoughtful discussion among readers." - Lake Oswego Public Library

Copies of the book are available at the library.
